Advocating at the Legislature
Our Teacher Leader Fellows started the day with a briefing by Ben Onofrio, DSD Legal Council, on current legislative bills. They then engaged in advocacy skill development exercises.
At the Capitol, the Fellows were welcomed in the House Chamber by Representative Karen Peterson, who shared suggestions on how educators can advocate for public ed.
Fellows next met with their legislators outside chambers, watched from the gallery, and shared their stories afterward during lunch.
